Uplift AAPI voices and close the voter registration gap.
Challenge App and Website Redesign
8by8 is a non-profit organization dedicated to stopping hate against AAPI communities through voter registration and turnout.
The 8by8 Challenge encourages participants to register to vote, and to get 8 of their friends to register as well.
As a member of the small but mighty team of design volunteers, I take part in the full scope of UX design process - conducting user research interviews, ideation, building wireframes, creating prototypes, and presenting. We use Figma for wireframing, designing, and prototyping, Miro for user research and ideation, and Zoom to connect with each other and our engineers. I was also responsible for redesigning the organization’s website using Wix.

Design
We went through multiple iterations on this design. This was the first time I had designed incorporating outside logos. This was a fun challenge for me. 8by8 has a very strong brand image, so I experimented with different ways to stay true to our image, but also not overshadow or modify the logos to diminish our partner’s branding recognition.
For our Beta release, I took the lead in designing the rewards flow. With support from the rest of the team, I crafted a design that would allow for seamless growth and change as the list of rewards partners will expand.
I built the design around the 3 rewards partners we had at the time. As the organization grows, so will our partner list, so my goal was to create a neutral UI that will accommodate various partners and logos
